What is C.A.R.T.?
Communication Access Realtime Translation (C.A.R.T.) is the
spoken word translated into text and appearing on a screen (computer screen,
monitor, movie screen or digital display board) in realtime, but without the
video picture. This is used in one-on-one sessions such as in a school
classroom, or in a larger setting such as in a Self-Help for Hard of Hearing (SHHH)
meeting. Since words only are projected, there is no need for
video equipment or an encoder. AmeriCaption travels the state of Florida
and the nation providing on-site C.A.R.T. services. AmeriCaption also provides remote C.A.R.T. services via streaming text to the
internet.
Feedback about AmeriCaption's CART
services:
"We
as hard-of-hearing auditory research scientists could really enjoy and
participate in this superb and qualitative tremendous conference at Bethesda
last week. The captioner Deanna C. Boenau, RDR, CRR, from AmeriCaption, Inc,
Sarasota, Fl. 34232, did a fantastic job,
exceeding the level of the telephone relay service. From the many
sessions she has participated in at these kinds of meetings, she has introduced
in her stenography translation software a striking broad and variant vocabulary,
which will be very useful for neuroscience in general and hearing science in
particular.
We really like to
thank you all very, very, very much for your support of us and to Deanna, since
it is very logical that such a highly-skilled and competent person like Deanna
could help us also in the near future.
With our very best
wishes,

Feedback about an AmeriCaption Remote CART assignment:
"The CART was wonderful today. You did your usual top quality job. I was also
on a speaker phone so I was able to understand some of the voices. I couldn't
believe how realtime it was. "
