Ellis, until taking a position as a deputy official reporter with Frank Sarli's Accurate Court Reporters in Orlando. He earned his NSRA (now NCRA) Certificate of Proficiency and the Florida Certified Shorthand Reporter designations in 1969, and the NSRA Certificate of Merit in 1973.
Jack became an Official Court Reporter in Iowa and earned Iowa's Certified Shorthand Reporter designation in 1976, and the Iowa Award of Shorthand Excellence Awards in 1980, 1983, 1984, and was president of the Iowa Shorthand Reporters Association in 1980-81.
Returning to Florida, he became a partner and president in a Sarasota court reporting firm, then in 1990 incorporated AmeriCaption, Inc., where he provided pro bono services for the hearing-impaired community. He received the FCRA Distinguished Service Award in 1991 and the FCRA and NCRA Pro Bono Awards in 1993, and was named a Sarasota County Vocational Institute "Outstanding School Volunteer" for 1994-95.
Deanna Boenau received her Associate of

school in Pinellas County, Florida. She worked as a freelance court
reporter in St. Petersburg and Tampa, Florida, then Erie, Pennsylvania, before
returning to Tampa to begin her realtime captioning career in 1995.
